We may not have had a day off from school but this storm gave me total ‘snow day’ excitement. Sledding, kite flying and snow angels made me feel like I was in elementary school all over again. In the pictures we are buried waist deep in a drift we found in a sand trap on a golf course.

I’m not sure why I had never thought to fly a kite in the snow. It’s windy in the winter…so it’s obviously very possible. As long as you’re bundled up and warm it’s a blast. Wearing mittens made it a little tricky but I was able to adjust. The blank snow made such a pretty background for the neon kite, especially when it landed on the fresh powder.

Remember how fun Twister use to be? Well we rediscovered it this weekend and let me just tell you, it’s still amazing. We quickly realized that 6 full sized people were not going to be playing at the same time so we created a bracket and had a mini-tournament. Socks were required to create as much slipping and sliding as possible.

The best Boston apartments all have one thing in common–they have the greatest spot for a Christmas tree. Three large windows surround the tree creating the perfect backdrop. Plus, the view from outside is outstanding.

Possibly one of my favorite and most unexpected Christmas presents this year–hand made shark mittens. I saw these little creatures online around Thanksgiving. My mom remembered them and totally surprised me on Christmas. Since the original blue pair she has made them in purple and green which look slightly more dinosaur-like. Putting these critters on makes even the coldest Boston morning a little more bearable.

It’s been almost two years since I packed my car and moved to Boston. I absolutely love it here but I really, really miss my horses. I got to see them when I was in Michigan for Christmas this year and it was so much fun. I’ve heard this cheesy quote so many times, but I have to say…it really is true.
There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man. –Winston Churchill

Making cookies with my Grandma is definitely one of my favorite holiday traditions. I always have this perfect image in my mind of how each cookie is suppose to look but for some reason hers are the only ones that seem to come out come out quite right. I have to say I made some progress this year with my frosting skills but I’m definitely going to have to keep practicing!

I had planned to keep this space work free but I had a lot fun working on this project and it deserved a spot outside of the work tab. Definitely one of the biggest projects I’ve worked on at Arnold, I helped produce the World’s largest children’s book and throw an event surrounding it in Rockefeller Center in November. The book was beautiful and the story was really cute.

The crew went all out this year for Halloween. We went to the Brickyard party on Friday night and headed to ZuZu is Cambridge on Saturday. My mom was in town the week before the festivities and MADE my costume for me. I don’t think she’s done that since I was about 6 but I pulled out all the stops for Little Red Riding Hood. Todd and Ryan went as Bert and Ernie which was absolutely hilarious, nobody recognized them. Their prep took a little longer than mine but was totally worth it in the end.
