After finding our adorable and well-located flat in London we headed out to see the sights. First stop, Westminster Abbey. The weather was surprisingly warm and sunny but so we spend quite a bit of time walking around outside before going inside for the audio tour.

I love a good train ride and this one was so much fun. I spend the entire ride starring out the window at the beautiful countryside. Until of course we went under the water then I just tried not to think about the fact that we were in a train under the water.

After a long day of sight seeing we were walking back to our apartment just as the sun was setting. We were walking past buildings we’d seen earlier in the day but with the sun glowing orange everything looked so beautiful. It felt like we were seeing everything for the first time.

As soon as you walk into the Louvre you start seeing signs for the Mona Lisa. Of course we wanted to see it, but there is so much to see as you walk into the museum that it’s hard not to rush through it. We made sure to give ourselves plenty of time to see everything. I was shocked by the crowd in front of such a little painting. I squeezed my way right up to the front to get a picture.

My first trip to Paris wouldn’t have been complete without a visit to the Louvre. We headed over fairly early in the day so that we could try and avoid the lines. It was a gorgeous day outside so we walked all the way there. It was every bit as overwhelming as I expected it to be. We spent a good part of the day there before we finally dragged ourselves out to move on to the next destination. Definitely a museum that needs to be seen more than once.
