Ski Day

Pat's Peak

Yesterday we met several of our friends at Pat’s Peak in New Hampshire for a day of snow-filled fun. I spent the morning snowboarding with Ryan and then finally decided that maybe it wasn’t for me. I traded in my board for some trusty skis and hit the slopes again. It wasn’t that I didn’t like snowboarding, I really did. It’s definitely hard and the falling is more frequent and more painful but it seems way more social. You always see 2 or 3 snowboarders half way down the mountain just sitting and talking, I liked that about it. But I liked being able to keep up with the group much more. Being able to stay with all of my friends and not feel like I was holding them back was worth it. Oh, and I didn’t have to stay on the same boring green trail all day long!

Snow Day!

At first, I thought for sure this was going to be perfect snowman snow. But as I tried unsuccessfully to pack it into a ball and then roll it to make it bigger and bigger, I realized that only the first layer of snow was good packing snow. So, we cleared out the top layer and dug down to the bottom stuff! A little fluffy powder wasn’t going to get in the way of making this snowman friend.

Snow Day!

Boston got hit with yet another snow storm today. I woke up at 7am like a little kid and ran to the window. We already had about 6″ and it was still falling and blowing like crazy. Not soon after that I got an email from my boss suggesting I ‘work from home’. It was great news considering I was glued to my seat watching the falling snow. I spent most of the day inside but eventually had to venture out to shovel out my car. After the bug was free and clear Ryan and I decided to drive around Allston to see the sights. We ended up at the Armory park which turns out to be the local hangout on snow days. There were so many kids there sledding, snowboarding and playing in the snow.

I drove really far with Ryan on Saturday to get some lift thingy he’s been wanting for a while but was out of stock. It was kind of an accident, I agreed to go along for one part of the trip and ended up spending the entire day in the car with him. Luckily I found these little guys to entertain me!

I helped, a little

Ryan recently moved out of his garage in Allston to a much large one with some of his friends in Union Square. Union Mill is the name of the new place and it’s really starting to come together. With so much more space to work with it became clear that new benches would be the best way to utilize the area. So, we built some. I’m usually just the measurer but with this project I used both the regular and the air drill. I left all of the sawing to Ryan, I’d like to keep all of my fingers right where they are.

Christmas Tarantula

This is Wilbur, my brother’s pet tarantula. He got a new house for Christmas and now lives in the living room right next to the TV. Call me paranoid, but I couldn’t help but look over every few minutes just to make sure he was still in there.

Santa Pony

Yoshi probably hates me for putting that silly Santa hat on him but I just couldn’t resist. I’m pretty sure after the number of treats I gave him he’ll find it in his heart to forgive me.

Christmas Lights

On Christmas Eve my family and I went to the Fifth Third Ballpark to check out the lights. They set up beautiful displays on all of the surrounding roads for people to drive through. I know they are a little unconventional, but the lake monster and the dinosaur were my two favorites.

Oooooh Christmas Tree

Our Christmas tree decorations match all of the rooms in our apartment. If we ever move I’m either going to have to paint all of the same colors or get all new decorations!
