Dolores Park is the perfect spot to sit and drink coffee on Saturday morning. Or to lay out your towel and get a tan, or to get out the grill and have a picnic. Dolores Park is a great spot in general. Located at the western edge of the Mission District it provides a perfect sanctuary when you’re sick of the hustle and bustle of the city. Although, if I lived in the Mission Di

Telegraph Hill is where San Francisco all came together for me. I could look at a map and then look at the actual landmarks. It definitely helped me get my bearings in the city. Oh, and I almost fell down the side of the hill while trying to pose for a picture. That’s what I get for trying to be a tourist!

The top of Telegraph Hill has a pretty serious view. I did my best to line up photos all the way around the tower and put them all together panorama style.

Everyone knows you can’t go near an ocean without at least sticking your feet in. I’m not sure that’s a good rule to follow when the Pacific is the ocean. It was cold, really really really cold. But hey, at least we did it!

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is absolutely as good as everyone says it is. It’s definitely one of the biggest I’ve ever seen. There is so much to see and lots of things to interact with. My favorite was definitely the jelly fish, the colors were just so, so bright.

Big Sur…check
Monterey…check
San Francisco…check
Yup, we did it all.

Saw this key sitting on the fence while driving along Big Sur.

We spent a few hours driving Big Sur and stopped at several photo areas along the way. This was by far the luckiest find of the day. We saw an area that had a breathtaking view but also had a walking path. When we got out of the car we got a tip from a woman who was stuck in town because of the volcano! She said to take the long way around to get the best view of the waterfall. Well, she could not have been more right. The waterfall was spectacular. So spectacular in fact that after we left we decided to turn around and come back to see the sunset.

I flew into San Francisco and immediately headed South out of the city. I spent the next two days drooling over some of the most beautiful scenery I’ve ever seen. The drive to Monterey is absolutely astonishing.
