Birthday River

Ryan and I pulled over to watch the sun set in Vermont. The mountains were the perfect backdrop.

I took this photo at the American Cancer Society office in Williston, VT. I ran over with Alex to pick up a few things for our DetermiNation team dinner later that evening and couldn’t resist taking a little tour.

I’m pretty sure we went to every antique store in Vermont this weekend. I always love looking through all of the vintage jewelry. No purchases for me this weekend but I still had fun.

This weekend when we were in Vermont we had some visitors that had never been before. I got all excited about showing them around and doing all of the touristy things that I love so much. Of course, Ben & Jerry’s was at the top of my list. We went on Friday and did the tour. Unfortunately they weren’t making ice cream that day but we still got to taste one of the new flavors!

I’m a celebrator. Give me an excuse and I will throw you a party. Super Bowl – had one of those, fake Thanksgiving – did that too. But a birthday, that’s when I really go for it, gigantic balloons and all. I’m so lucky that my friends put up with my incessant planning. Thanks for making 26 amazing guys.

The Fuji is all fixed up. I’m still waiting on a nice sunny day to get some good ‘after’ photos but here are a few work in progress shots. I had to borrow a few parts from the purple glitter bike but I still have the frame. Anyone want to rock some sparkle this summer?

Ryan and I made yet another trip to Brimfield this year. The weather was beautiful so it was really just a good excuse to be outside enjoying the day but I did find some neat stuff. None of these items made it home with me but they were all so me.

I was working in the backyard this weekend when I saw this little guy making his way across the deck!

I have been wanting to make cookie dough truffles for some time now. I found two recipes – one healthy version and one um, less healthy version? Lets just say that I never got around to covering the healthy version with chocolate. When compared to the real version well, there just was no comparason. I made the cake batter version of the recipe I found here and they were amazing. The recipe made about 25 truffles and they were all gone by about 10am the next morning at work. I would definitely recommend this recipe and am already looking forward to making them again!
